The truth about fishkeeping:

Fish ARE NOT easy pets, they are good pets, but require a lot of dedication, money and commitment.

Fish DO NOT grow to the size of their tank, their body might, but their internal organs will not, they'll die prematurely and suffering

A "Nemo" is a clownfish, it requires a saltwater marine tank. Saltwater is a very expensive hobby to get into, costs rising into the thousands. And the fish tank featured in the film "Finding Nemo" is NOT a real-life viable tank.

Goldfish are difficult fish to keep. They grow up to 12"-14" and can live for up to 20 years. They are high waste producers, needing power filtration. They should be kept with 1 goldfish per 20 US gallons, every other goldfish 10 US gallons thereafter, i.e. 3 goldfish will require at LEAST 40 US gallons. Common goldfish should really be kept in a pond environment, not a tank, as they grow much faster and are a lot tougher than fancies.

Just because the fish is small, does not mean it can be kept in a tiny tank. Fish such as tetras and danios stay relatively small, but still require 15-20 US gallons plus as they are such active schooling fish.

There are 4 main types of tank:

Freshwater Coldwater - Unheated, generally below 25 degrees C
Freshwater Tropical - Heated, 25 degrees C plus
Brackish - Contains more sea salts than Freshwater, but less than open sea
Saltwater/Marine - High sea salt content
